Besse's painting accepted into Birds in Art, Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum
Linda Besse's painting Fontana del Pantheon has been accepted into the 2016 Birds in Art exhibit at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. This is the eleventh time her work has been accepted into this prestigious show.


Besse named Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation 2017 Featured Artist
Linda Besse has been named the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation 2017 Featured Artist. Her painting Call of the Wild was selected as the 2017 Featured Print. Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation chapters around the country will have this limited edition canvas print available for their fund-raising auctions. Linda is very honored to have her work selected as the only Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation print available for 2017.


Linda heads into polar bear country
Linda heads back into remote northern Manitoba. This is a chance to experience the snow goose migration and wild polar bears.

459-mile Arctic Canoe trip completed
On August 6th, 2012, six artists began a canoe trip at the headwaters of the Noatak River in Gates of the Arctic National Park and ended 4 weeks later at the ocean.


Besse Accepted into Birds in Art 2010
For the 8th time in 10 years, Linda Besse has a painting accepted into the prestigious Birds in Art Exhibit at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. Her painting, Giraffe & Company was accepted for this year's show.


Besse Wins Ethology Award at 50th Society of Animal Artists Juried Exhibition
Linda Besse's large painting, Battle Royale, has been accepted into the 50th Annual Juried Exhibition of the Society of Animal Artists. It was awarded teh Ethology Award, an award presented to the painting or sculpture which best depicts Natural Behavior.


Besse Accepted in Oil Painters of America Annual Show
Linda Besse's painting Flamingo Dance was accepted into the Oil Painters of America's Annual Juried Show. A total of 2,560 entries were received for this show of only 200 oil paintings.


The Artist Magazine Finalist
Almost 10,000 entries were received this year for the Artist's Magazine Competition. From those entries, 50 - 75 are selected as finalists in each category. Linda Besse had 3 paintings selected as finalists in the Animal/Wildlife Category.


Besse Accepted into Oil Painters of America Annual Show
Over 2400 paintings vied to be one of the 200 chosen for this prestigious show. Linda's painting Ocean Feast was selected.


Besse Wins Award of Excellence
Linda's painting Flamingo Dance won the Award of Excellence at the 2009 NatureWorks show in Tulsa , OK.


Besse Member of 7 Continent Club
Linda Besse has now been to all 7 continents to research the flora and fauna for her paintings. To celebrate, she did what any person with temporary insanity would do, the Antarctic Polar Plunge!


ANTARCTICA EXPEDITION
Linda heads to Antarctica to research penguins, seal, and whales. This is a spot she has longed to see and she looks forward to taking an indepth look at the Frozen Continent.

This trip will also make Linda a member of the 7 Continent Club as she visits her last two continents (South America and Antarctica.)

Her trip is Nov 27th - Dec 11th, 2008


Labrador Expedition
Linda has been asked to be part of the upcoming WREAF Expedition to Labrador, Canada. (www.wreaf.org) At the invitation of the Innu Nation, twelve will head to a remote spot to witness the George River caribou migration. The trip is sponsored by the Canadian Wildlife Federation and associated with the Smithsonian’s Arctic Studies Center. A show at the Smithsonian of the field sketches and paintings generated from the trip is anticipated in late 2009 or 2010. About ½ of the herd of 800,000 caribou passes through this region of Labrador.
Her trip is Sept 28th - Oct 18th, 2008


Besse accepted into Birds in Art 2008
Linda's painting Skimmer has been accepted into the prestigious Birds in Art Show at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. This is the 7th time in 8 years that Linda has had a piece accepted.


Besse Accepted into Annual SAA show
Linda's painting Star Light, Star Bright has been accepted into the 48th Annual Art and the Animal exhibit of the Society of Animal Artists. The World premiere is at the Neville Musuem in Green Bay, Wisconsin.


Besse accepted into Endangered Species Show
The Endangered Species - Flora and Fauna in Peril has accepted Linda Besse's painting, The Return, for inclusion in this prestigious exhibition and sale. Beginning at the Wildling Art Musuem in Los Olivos, CA, the touring show will continue to the Dept of the Interior in Washington DC and finish at The Wildlife Experience in Parker, CO. Linda is honored to be included in this show of very select pieces which showcases Threatened and Endangered Species of the U.S.

Linda Besse heads back to Africa August-September 2007 on an extensive research trip.


Besse's painting accepted into SAA Miniature Show
Linda Besse's painting Cruisin' the Shorelinehas been juried into the Society of Animal Artists Miniature show "Small Works - Big Impressions". This new show will be held at The Wildlife Experience in Parker, CO, November 17th, 2007 - January 1, 2008


Besse Wins Best of Show at 2007 Natureworks
Linda Besse won Best of Show at the 2007 Natureworks Art Show & Sale, held in Tulsa, OK. Her winning painting of two tigers is titled, Battle Royale.


Painting Donated to the International Snow Leopard Trust
Linda Besse has donated her snow leopard painting titled Lord of the Mountains to the International Snow Leopard Trust. "The ISNT does such good work focusing their efforts on preserving the snow leopard by engaging the local peoples and their habitat," says Linda. The painting is 23" X 30" with a framed value of $6000.


Art and the Animal 2006
Linda Besse's painting Ocean Feast has been accepted into the Society of Animal Artist's Annual Show. This year the show opens at the Bennington Center for the Arts, Bennington, VT. The show runs from Sept 15th - Nov. 30th, 2006
