Small wonders: Spanish Moss Miniature Art Show reveals that less is more. The AMAS requirement for artwork is that the painted area be no larger than 5 by 5 inches, or 25 square inches. Do not be misled by the size of these artworks. According to published juror guidelines, miniature art is decidedly not a "small painting", but rather fine art painted in small scale. Winning entries reveal the vast range and diversity of the participating artists.
Gulf Coast residents are invited to see for themselves — with the aid of magnifying glasses — when the Alabama Miniature Art Society presents the 2nd annual Spanish Moss Miniature Art Juried Exhibition through Feb. 28 at Southern Art & Framing Gallery in west Mobile, AL.
