Kathleen Sheard SAA, AFC, AAB, MPAA Glass and Graphite Wildlife Artist
Cycle of Life
For over 39 years I have had a vision of creating a life size sea turtle in cast glass. For my one woman show I did the initial mock up of my 5'x5' sculpture that will be a statement on man's environmental degradation of the sea turtle species.
PADI Open Water Certified Diver
My newest commission is a coral reef that will take up to three years to complete. My gracious collector made it possible that I would get my open water scuba certification so I could see the environment and the sea creatures that will be in his finished artwork. In support of my sea turtle cause he also made it possible for me to volunteer with the Hawaiian Wildlife Fund. With the scuba certification I will able to work on other sea turtle projects.
Sea Turtle Patrol
Starting in the spring of 2008, Kathleen has traveled as often as possible to volunteer with the Sea Turtle Patrol that covers the beaches of Alligator Point, Florida. In January 2015 she volunteered for the first time with the Hawaiian Wildlife Fund on Maui.
