Creating an studio oil painting
This 30" x 40" oil painting of the York River was created using on the spot pencil sketches and photographs gathered from a couple of camping/hiking excursions to this very rugged area of Algonquin Park. My vantage point was a large rock mid-stream where it is possible to do a quick study but not appropriate for painting a larger work.
