Birds
Song birds, raptors, wild or domestic fowl are all favoured subjects for sketching and painting. Observation and photography help in the process of creating the compositions of these studio paintings.
Canadian Arctic and Greenland
These paintings are inspired by my most recent excursion to Canada's high Arctic. Travelling aboard the Akademik Ioffe as a member of Actic Quest, a group of 25 Canadian artists. I sketched painted and photographed the wonderous, fragile beauty of Canada's last frontier.
The Canadian Shield Alphabet
The Canadian Shield Alphabet book is for children from kindergarten to grade 6. I am delighted to have completed 26 paintings to illustrate the book that is chock full of interesting and little known facts about the the Canadian Shield, the people and animals that live there.
Landscape
Travels throughout Canada coast to coast, the High Arctic and frequent wilderness excursions provide RoseMarie with inspiration infusing her paintings with integrity and a sense of place.
Rural
RoseMarie often travels to rural areas endeavoring to capture what remains of the tradition of working the land. Wonderful barns and farm houses clustered amongst the valleys and lakes of the Madawaska and Haliburton are disappearing.
Heritage
Canadian architectural heritage holds a strong place in RoseMarie's interests and her body of work.
Wildlife
RoseMarie's wildlife paintings are embued with her affinity to animals, her knowledge of their environment and habits.
Floral
An avid gardener since childhood I now do most of my gardening through my paintings.
Figurative
Life drawing has always been one of my greatest passions. There is nothing more exhilarating and challenging than working from a live model.
