Hans Kappel

I try to paint animals as vividly as possible. It is not my primary intention to stylize their forms. I wish they could speak their own language. The surroundings should be full of life. By this I do not mean a lot of things and details but above all the inner voice of a landscape, the atmosphere, light and shadows, wind and weather.
As a photographer I am especially interested in capturing flying animals in action (e.g. birds, bats and insects). I have developed my own special technical equipment for this purpose - devices that are not available on the market. My interest lies in the combination of science and beauty.
