Terry WoodallAFC Interpretive and Abstract Wood Sculpture
The art exhibition of endangered and threatened species will open at the Wildling Art Museum, Los Olivos, California, June 22 and show through September 14. The Department of Interior Museum in Washington, D.C. will host the exhibit from November 1 through May 16, 2009. "Steller Moment" depicts seven Steller Sea Lions frolicking and cavorting in their natural habitat of rocky coastal headlands. A rare and dense form of Oregon Myrtlewood, with the resulting deep and rich colorations suggestive of the animal's color tones, is the medium. The scene is entirely carved from one wood segment with much of the natural texture and forms left intact to resemble rocky coastal terrain.
