Dancing with the Sea Lions
Date: Friday, April 8, 2016 to Sunday, October 9, 2016 Location: An unveiling of the Sea Lions will take place at the Florence Events Center on April 7 & 8, 2016, first with a VIP evening event, followed by a daytime public viewing event, and a Splash Off, Saturday, April 9, 10:00am to 3:00pm.
Terry will also be showing six art pieces-- sea lion studies sculpted from Oregon Myrtlewood –in the Sea Life Art Exhibit to be presented in Gallery One at the Florence Events Center, April 9 through May 31. An opening artist reception will take place from 2–3 pm Saturday afternoon, April 9, at the Florence Events Center, coinciding with the "Dancing with Sea Lions" program.
Details: Dancing with Sea Lions is a public art project of 20 painted fiberglass Sea Lions placed in the community to commemorate the Florence Event Center's 20th anniversary. In April the Dancing with Sea Lions project will hit the streets of Florence, Newport and Reedsport, on the Oregon Coast. Artist Terry Woodall has contributed a sea lion covered in a mosaic of carved myrtlewood sea lions titled "Pinniped Parade."
