Staying Wild with Jane Goodall: An Artist's Journey to Gombe
“Magical” a word Dr. Jane Goodall used to describe our next destination as I sat with her around a bonfire under Tanzanian skies. Jane describes the long hours she spent with chimpanzees in the forest of Gombe and how it shaped her understanding of our place in nature. Ultimately, the discoveries she made from 15 years living in Gombe propelled her to leave this place she loves to spread a message of urgency about the state of our planet and hope for its future. I couldn’t wait to hike the forests of Gombe.

From Lions to Pangolins: An Artist's Journey to Mozambique
Niassa, Mozambique...one of the last great wilderness areas on earth. Despite its size and critical importance, it is little known internationally. AFC Artist Becci Crowe undertook the long journey to this remote area. While evading middle of the night invasions of Army Ants in her tent, she participated in and documented the daily challenges and accomplishments of the Niassa Carnivore Project to raise awareness and support their critical conservation efforts.

Becci Crowe's "La Vieille" Presented to Dr. Jane Goodall
AFC Artist Becci Crowe was invited to present her Pen & Ink Original Portrait "La Vieille" to Dr. Jane Goodall October 10th during the Wildlife Conservation Network Expo in San Francisco. Becci was inspired to create this piece for Dr. Goodall following her experience in the Republic of Congo with Jane earlier this year where she met La Vieille. This Original now hangs at the Headquarters of the Jane Goodall Institute and Limited Edition Prints of this original will raise funds for the Jane Goodall Institute.

Becci Crowe's Journey to the Congo with Dr. Jane Goodall
Dr. Jane Goodall, the Republic of Congo, a place called Tchimpounga and orphan chimpanzees... Becci Crowe just experienced it all and returned with a new understanding of the challenges to this wild place and the animals struggling to survive.

Becci Crowe to Join Dr. Jane Goodall in the Congo
From ballroom to jungle, AFC Artist Becci Crowe had the honor of attending Jane Goodall's 80th birthday celebration and will be joining Dr. Goodall this May when she returns to the Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Sanctuary near Pointe Noire, Republic of Congo. Tchimpounga is home to more than 150 chimpanzees, many of whom are orphan victims of the illegal commercial bush meat trade.

Becci Crowe's "Sleep Heap" Aids Endangered Painted Dogs
AFC Artist Becci Crowe raises funds for Painted Dog Research Trust at their Inaugural Seattle Event. Sleep Heap, created by Becci following weeks in the bush in Zimbabwe with Painted Dog expert Dr. Greg Rasmussen, was based on the packs they encountered. This piece represents the highly socialized bonds between members of the pack. Dr. Rasmussen and Becci presented it to the delighted high bidders who drove the long distance from Idaho to western Washington to attend the event. Becci donated 100% of the money to support the work of Painted Dog Research Trust in Zimbabwe.

Becci Crowe Returns from Painted Dog Conservation Campaign in Zimbabwe
As tourism expands into wild places it is putting added risk of premature death to Painted Dog pups who spend their first 3 months at a den site.
