Becci Crowe's "La Vieille" Presented to Dr. Jane Goodall
"La Vieille" French for 'Old Woman' is the name of this chimpanzee rescued many years ago by Jane Goodall from horrific conditions in the Congo. She was transported to Tchimpounga which was established by Jane in the 1990's and is now Africa's largest chimpanzee rehabilitation center. Dr. Goodall has a long history with La Vieille and Becci's pen & ink portrait symbolizes all the lives Dr. Goodall has changed through her years of tireless work as well as the shared passion they each have for these amazing beings and their experience together in the Congo. The Original is in Jane Goodall's private collection and now hangs at the Headquarters of The Jane Goodall Institute in Washington DC. Limited Edition Prints will raise awareness and funds for the Jane Goodall Institute.
