To mark her 80th birthday, Dr. Goodall put out an appeal to the world to raise funds to move more than 100 chimpanzees from the Sanctuary to three pristine islands in the nearby Kouilou River. Becci will be joining Jane Goodall as she returns to the sanctuary for the first time since her appeal and see her birthday wish realized. Both will be staying on the Sanctuary compound and participating together in the transfer of the orphans.
Following her return from the Congo, Becci Crowe will be creating an art series and program based on this experience to benefit the work of the Jane Goodall Institute and raise awareness about the plight of Chimpanzees, an endangered species. A post trip report and photos will document this once in a lifetime journey.
