Here is my initial sketch onto a 30" x 48" stretched canvas. This summer I was honored to be the Artist In Residence at the Idaho Art Lab. I had a great trip out, a great time as resident artist, and a great trip back home. Traveling out west you get the opportunity to see the many herds of bison in the Badlands, Custer State Park, Yellowstone National Park, and many other areas along the way. I already finished one large bison painting (Bison Highway, Acrylic, 30" x 40")and want to continue to capture more images of bison on canvas.
