Born in 1986 in the beautiful Michigan upper peninsula, I've grown up surrounded by nature and art. With no formal education in art I would have to say my Dad is the greatest teacher and critique of my art, and my grandfathers love for nature especially birds, achieving a doctorate in Biology and an avid birder, he always had a answer to my questions. Also admiration of great nature artists like Robert Bateman, Terry Isaac and John Audubon have led to where my skill is now.
I can not remember a time that I haven't been interested in nature. It has always captured me, in turn I do my best to capture it. Whether in paint, wood or other materials, I enjoy it immensely . As a child I can remember carrying around my "Peterson's field guide to Birds of North America" identifying and sketching as I went. Growing older "teen" years, unfortunately I lost some of my ambition for painting. But recently it has been reignited and I have returned to my easel with renewed energy and purpose to use the talent that I have been given to the fullest. I want to use my art as a mouth for those who cannot speak our language, to portray the majestic beauty of our planet earth and all its wildlife inhabitants.
