Steller Moment
(2008)
Subject: Steller Sea Lions Dimensions (inches): 14 x 30 x 9 Medium: Oregon Myrtlewood Description: The Southern Oregon Coast is home to colonies of Steller Sea Lions that typically frolic and cavort over the rocks and waves. This scene of sea lions and their antics is carved from one segment of a rare and dense form of black myrtlewood, resulting in natural colorations of the animals and textures resembling their rocky, tidepool terrain. 'Steller Moment' was included in the Wilding Art Museum exhibit and national tour titled 'Endangered Species; Flora and Fauna in Peril'.
