  MERR Institute  
  The Marine Education, Research and Rehabilitation Institute, Inc. ( MERR ) is a non-profit stranding response and rehabilitation organization dedicated to the conservation of marine mammals and sea turtles. It is MERR's commitment to contribute to the preservation of these species through research and rescue efforts, and to foster greater understanding and appreciation of these species and their habitat through education and enhanced public awareness.
MERR Institute, Inc. is authorized by National Marine Fisheries Service and the State of Delaware to be the official stranding respondents for the Marine Mammals and Sea Turtles of Delaware.
The MERR Institute:
Responds to stranded marine mammals and sea turtles (alive and dead) Conducts research on marine species Conducts education and outreach programs for school and groups Participates in the Northeast Regional Stranding Network

Art for ConservationTM Commitment Goal:
Not Specified.

MERR Institute has been indicated by AFC members as a potential recipient of donations by participating artists. AFC's Art for ConservationTM program, provides a forum to promote artwork that benefits recognized conservation organizations such as MERR Institute.

AFC members have voluntarily and independently earmarked a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their artwork to MERR Institute. AFC's Art for ConservationTM program provides a forum to help promote artwork for sale that includes such a commitment. Each artists's commitment is contingent on the sale of their work and the above estimate is a potential total based on the completion of sale of any original work and/or limited editions. The AFC is not involved in any way with artwork sales transactions, nor does it make any guarantees relating to artist commitments. The AFC takes no commission whatsoever from the sale of artwork under the Art for ConservationTM program, unless explicitly indicated.
