First Joint Exhibition for Pollyanna Pickering and her daughter
Pollyanna and Anna-Louise, an accomplished wildlife photographer, have been invited to take part in their first ever joint exhibition at the Beetroot Tree Gallery in Draycott during September.
This hidden gem is a converted Jacobean barn with three floors of exhibition space, and a café and landscaped garden which together create a tranquil retreat. The café uses fair-trade and organic ingredients. The exhibition ‘African Safari' will feature paintings inspired by Pollyanna's recent safaris to Namibia and Kenya, as well as an exclusive piece from her forthcoming visit to Shamwari in South Africa, alongside Anna-Louise's compelling photographs of African wildlife.
To continue with the African theme, the gallery will also present a complimentary exhibition of work by the Ubhule Bead Commune from South Africa. The women create amazingly intricate artwork by hand beading onto canvases. The commune strives to gain independence for the women, and assists with their ongoing fight against HIV.
Visit www.thebeetroottree.com for further information. Full details of the date and opening times of the exhibition can be found in the events listings.
