Pollyanna Pickering Foundation Builds New Aviaries for Raptor Trust
The Foundation has built a large size exercise and rehabilitation aviary and new hospital units at Raptor Trust UK in Norfolk. Because the trust were able to secure volunteer labour to construct the aviary and units, the Foundation was able to maximise the value of the $5000.00 needed to purchase materials.

Pollyanna is honoured to have recieved the Association of Animal Artists most prestigious annual award, which was presented at the AAA Annual Dinner in aid of Freshfields Animal Rescue in Cheshire, UK.

Pollyanna Pickering Foundation funds Education Programme
The Pollyanna Pickering Foundation has raised $12000.00 to fund an education programme to re-train workers from a bear bile farm in China to work as bear carers at Animals Asia sanctuaries. In Autumn last year Pollyanna was pleased to have the opportunity to formally present Animals Asia Founder Jill Robinson (above left) with a cheque.


Pollyanna Pickering hosts Born Free Year of the Lion Event
On the 50th anniversary of the release of the iconic, award-winning motion picture Born Free, the Born Free Foundation have declared 2016 to be The Year of the Lion. This ongoing year of action and celebration will honour the 50th anniversary of the film Born Free and highlight the Foundation’s critical work to protect lions globally.

Pollyanna Pickering Opens New Artist’s Studios
Pollyanna is delighted to have accepted the role of patron to the new artist’s studios in the grounds of Haworth Art Gallery. Pollyanna was delighted to be invited to visit the Guide Dogs for the Blind National Breeding Centre in Warwickshire, UK. She enjoyed a tour o the state of the art facilities & even undertook the challenge of a blindfold walk through an obstacle course - guided by gorgeous labrador Upton.

Pollyanna has a long standing association with Guide Dog for the Blind who have been commissioning & publishing her work on cards and gifware since the 1980's - over the year helping to raise tens of thousands of pounds for the charity's work.

Pollyanna Pickering unveils giant tiger image!
In her role as Project Arts Patron to Gallery Town, Pollyanna was guest of honour at the relaunch of this public arts initiative which aims to help regenerate Rotherham’s culture and economy through the medium of art and culture.

Gallery Town has sited including large scale reproductions of artwork in 60 central locations in the South Yorkshire town, making it the UK’s largest urban open-air art gallery.

The resulting study of two painted tigers on a sketched landrover was exhibited at the prestigious Clarendon Fine Art Gallery, in London's Mayfair, in an exhibition entitled WILDWORKS.


Pollyanna Pickering Foundation Funding for a Safe Haven for badgers
During Pollyanna’s 2014 Christmas exhibition in her private gallery she was proud to unveil the first 10 copies of a new limited edition print of badgers, Safe Haven. Each print was co-signed by Queen Guitarist Brian May - a passionate advocate for animal welfare. A few days after the event, Pollyanna was delighted to present Debbie Bailey of the High Peak Badger Group with a cheque for £1,000.00 – the initial funds raised by the campaign. The limited edition prints will continue to raise funds to protect badgers, and the Foundation will be making further contributions in due course.

Pollyanna’s forthcoming Summer exhibition will be called To the Ends of The Earth – and in preparation she has visited both the Arctic and Antarctic within the past 12 months. Pollyanna Pickering returns from Expedition into Rwanda
Pollyanna has recently returned from an expedition to piant mountain gorillas - sitting in deep undergrowth just a few feet away from a huge troop in the Virunga mountains in Rwanda. Despite having been fortunate enough to travel across five continents and to observe many endangered species in their natural habitats, Pollyanna described her experiences of sitting quietly in the midst of a group of gorillas as ‘one of the most magical days of my life’


Pollyanna Pickering Foundation funds sanctuary for Painted Dogs in Namibia
Pollyanna has visited one of the major conservation projects funded by the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation. In 2011 the Foundation paid £8,700.00 – the equivalent of $94,0000.00 Namibian dollars - to build a huge enclosure – over 8 hectares - (above) at the N/a’an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary in Namibia. Building the enclosure ensured the safe and secure growth and development of 14 orphaned painted dog pups - which would otherwise have faced certain death - and will eventually allow their re-introduction into former areas of residence such as Etosha National Park.

Vanessa Bezuidenhout director of the De Wildt Cheetah and Conservation Trust flew over from South Africa for the event and was present in the gallery throughout to chat to visitors about her work with these beautiful cats.


Pollyanna becomes honorary member of Rotary International
At a recent meeting of the her regional branch of the Rotary Club their president inducted Pollyanna into the society as an honorary member. The club offered the honorary membership to provide recognition by both the club and the local community of “Pollyanna’s outstanding contribution, both nationally and internationally to wildlife conservation through her many works of art depicting species in this country and overseas”.


BBC screen Pollyanna Pickering Documentary
The most recent documentary to feature Pollyanna's work - ‘Made in England’ - has just been broadcast on BBC1 in the UK.
The documentary makers challenged Pollyanna to 'work outside her comfort zone' and instead of painting the birds and animals she loves, to turn her attention to the 'human zoo' and paint people instead!


Pollyanna announces dates of land of the Thunder Dragon Exhibition
The dates have been set for the first exhibition of work inspired by Pollyanna Pickering’s AFC flag expedition into Bhutan. She will open the doors of her private gallery in Derbyshire from 14th - 22nd June


Honorary Degree for Pollyanna

Pollyanna backs Organ Donation campaign

Pollyanna has become the first patron of a national charity which promotes the conservation, welfare and protection of badgers, their setts and habitats. The Badger Trust is the leading voice for badgers in Britain, and represents and supports the activity of 80 local voluntary badger groups.


Tiger Canvas Print Raises $6800 for Compassion in World Farming
Pollyanna was thrilled when one of her tiger canvases 'Cool Waters' raised $6800.00 at a glittering event attending by celebrities including British newsreader Angela Rippon. The unique giclee print of a swimming tiger was created especially for the gala dinner.


Pollyanna becomes patron of The Wildlife Art Society International
Pollyanna is honoured to have accepted the post of patron of this prestigious Art Society. She has enjoyed a long association with the group, exhibiting regularly at their annual exhibitions - where she has twice been awarded a gold medal - and was also presented with their commemorative Millennium Trophy recognising excellence in the field of wildlife art.


Pollyanna Becomes Patron of Countryside Training Trust
