Mount Royal University Centennial Mural Mosaic
Mount Royal University will begin celebrating their centennial in September 2010, making them the second oldest post-secondary institution in Alberta. - —a massive, hand-painted mural mosaic, designed by Lewis Lavoie, that depicts the most significant people and stories connected to Mount Royal over the past 100 years. Wendy Palmer was chosen to paint a panel to represent the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, where MRU housed the Olympic Media during the 1988 XV Winter Olympics.

I decided to paint the XV Winter Olympic Medal to represent this event, as this precious piece of metal, is a recognized symbol of excellence. The Olympics is the most popular sports event throughout the world, with all participants competing for one thing, the symbol of excellence, the Olympic Medal.

Kunamokst Olympic Mural

Endangered Whopping Crane
Wendy Palmer is honored to be the chosen Alberta Wildlife Artist to take part in a unique fundraising event through the Campbellford Memorial Hospital Foundation in Campbellford, Ontario. The fundraising event called “The Other Canvas” (www.theothercanvas.ca/event.html ) involves some of Canada’s most well known artists and celebrities. Wendy decided to paint "Endangered Whooping Crane" to help promote the efforts of conservation breeding programs and reintroduction endeavors for this endangered species. Wendy Palmer has donated this painting and 100% of the profits to this fundraiser.

Winter Fox Trot
Wendy Palmer is very honored to have "Winter Fox Trot" selected by an independent jury to exhibit in "The Art of Conservation - An International Exhibition of Nature in Art" this September to December, 2009 at the Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum.

Hollyhock Robert Bateman & Me
Wendy Palmer had a feature article in the Creaturesall Magazine Aug-Sept/2008 issue. The article was a vignette from her journal of those five days spent with Robert Bateman at his Master Artist Seminar held on Cortes Island, BC in April 30 - May 4, 2008.

Le Cadeau du Cheval - The Horse Gift - Cloud
Wendy Palmer is honored to be involved in a unique art project called Le Cadeau Du Cheval - The Horse Gift, created by Mural Mosaic to celebrate the strength, beauty and energy of the horse through art. She has just completed a painting of "Cloud", the Wild Stallion of the Rockies documented from birth for a PBS Nature Series. Wendy decided to paint Cloud in order to honor and raise awareness of the wild horses in North America. Mural Mosaic is thrilled to have assembled some of the world's finest equine artists together for this stunning mural project. The Mural Mosaic project is a very organic process. As each painting is completed the mural slowly comes to life. We encourage you to continually revisit the mural page and watch as the mural develops leading up to the unveiling September 3, 2008 at Spruce Meadows, Calgary, Alberta. The mural will then go on tour for approximately two years. www.muralmosaic.com/Cadeau.html .
