Rapids on Petit Nation River The story in this painting is the rushing water. Caught up in the action I worked quickly. The brush took over very early in this painting, each brushstroke expressing excitement and movement. By focusing my attention close-up, I draw the viewer in to do the same.

Pine Bloom The Canadian Shield is a favourite subject. Here I am painting an outcrop across the lake (Lake Clear) from where I live, access by boat. While painting on-site I am refreshed by the surrounding landscape. I am humbled and at the same time reminded that I do belong in a great scheme, as long as I leave only a small footprint.
