Born in Lancashire in 1970, Mike now lives in the Devon countryside with his young family.

Mike has worked as an illustrator for the last 10 years specialising in natural history, he has worked for many conservation and wildlife organisations throughout the UK. His client list includes the Wildlife Trusts of Avon, Devon and Lancashire, INCA, Hobby Publications, BTO, Dartmoor Otter Sanctuary, BTCV, Sid Vale Association, East Devon Countryside Service, Devon Water Vole Recovery Project, Axe Estuary Wetland Project, Mere Sands Wood Nature Reserve plus many Councils and Local Authorities.

More recently Mike has concentrated on his wildlife art, this work is painted on a much larger scale with light and shadow being as much of a feature as the wildlife. He exhibits throughout the UK and his work has sold both nationally and internationally.

"Early memories of watching Barn Owls quartering the fields and wintering hen harriers flying along the dykes and ditches on the West Lancashire plain helped fuel my life long interest in birds. The landscape of this part of the northwest is big skies and miles of flat arable farmland, very inspiring for a budding wildlife artist! With Martin Mere Nature Reserve nearby I quickly become passionate about wildlife and especially birds."
