Description: In Iroquois Indian mythology the eagle of the east was the primary servant of the Sun; bringing the Sun's light to the east each morning and carrying it across the sky. 'Servant of the Sun' received the Dr. H.A. Fadhli Award for the best carved work in stone or wood at the National Sculpture Society 71st Annual Awards Exhibition in New York City and was exhibited in the Jennewein Gallery at Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina. The piece also received the Salmagundi Award at the Salmagundi Art Club 30th Annual Non-Members Exhibition, NYC and was a part of Audubon Artists, Inc. 65th Annual Exhibition, NYC.
