Subject: Mososaurus Dimensions (inches): 48 x 72 Medium: Oil on canvas Description: 'While a student at Rutgers University in New Jersey, I was commissioned to paint this dinosaur for the Rutgers University Geological Museum. As only fossilized skeletal remains of the mososaurus are available, I had to imagine what the creature looked like by also studying modern relatives, such as crocodiles and monitor lizards.' (Rutgers University Geological Museum Collection) Published in the book The Day of the Dinosaur (Bison Books, 1977) later re-released as The Natural History of the Dinosaur The painting is on display in entrance hall of the Rutgers University Geological Museum.
