Kelly traveled to the Galapagos in late September of 2009 to spend 40 days studying, sketching and photographing the unique animals and plants of the Islands. Her objective was to bridge the gap between science and art through a purposeful expedition of field studies, photographs, and interviews with experts of the region.

Childhood 'Art' 1964 - 1977 (NFS)
These pieces range from scribbles at the age of 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 through to sketches from my weekly grade nine sketch book at the age of 14 in 1977. Credit goes to my Mom for preserving these childhood drawings. Much to my chagrin she retrieved them many times from the garbage cans where I discarded them. I hope you will enjoy joining me on this historical visual journey.
Traditional Christian Hymn Series
I love spiritually inspirational music that glorifies our Creator, and I love birds, so it was only natural when I started painting that this element of my faith find its way into my art.
Constellation Starscapes
This series draws its inspiration from Psalm 19 "The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of His hands."

These starscapes depict the starry night skies with accurate views of the constellations. I take care to get not only the exact positions of the stars, but even attempt to capture each star's magnitude or brightness. I don't believe the stars are randomly placed to begin with, so I can't randomly place them either!
Galapagos
Kelly’s completed Galapagos originals are painted in her private studio using artistic field reference gathered from repeated expeditions to the Galapagos Islands with her most recent journey being in December 2011. In 2008 Kelly journeyed on a scouting mission with her husband to Ecuador to explore the Galapagos Islands – a precursor to receiving an AFC Flag Expedition fellowship to return once again in 2009 for her longest expedition spending 40 remarkable days and nights studying, sketching and photographing the unique animals and plants of the islands.
