Falling for Orangutans by Skydiving for SOS charity! |
7/27/2012 - I wanted to do something to help the Sumatran orangutans after all the heart breaking images of them fughting to get away from the forest fires set by the people to clear the forests so they can add more palm plantations which is destroying their environment and loosing their home, their environments, especially hitting hard at mo in Tripa... I only really mainly heard of the Borneo orangutans until a friend i met through facebook made me more aware of the Sumatran orangutans, knowing n hearing how critically endangered the sumatran tigers were i hadnt really heard of the sumatran orangutans, so i began to read the stories etc and read all about the Sumatan Orangutan Society and even though are a small charity are acheiving so much and i decided i also wanted to donate No. 1 of 'Contented' a limited edition giclee print i have recently bought out to hopefully raise more money and importantly raise awareness through my art...make an impact, educate and awareness in sharing links though facebook and people who read my story and at my solo exhibitions im sharing my knowledge with clients/friends etc, its so important and brings people together which is great as the more of us can get together the even more we can do to help different species futures....so from this i bought one of the SOS t-shirts which are fab, as you can see from image attached, im wearing it and asking people to join me in purchasing these t-shirts and frinds and family did, is such a pleasure to help and give back to the wild which gives me so much in inspiration and humbleness... I will always raise awarness through my art and donate where ever i can as this earth cycle is a delicate vonerable one, we need all these species as there is a bigger picture we cant see with the naked eye, but its happening all over the world and man is changing things and we wont know with what after effects until its too late and that why all of us artists are here to help all wildlifes futures...so im all excited and cant wait as i am doing a skydive for the sumatran orangutan society sunday the 23rd September and anyone is welcome to come along to support me...and guess what my mum is doing one too and she is raising funds for the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and as soon as her page is created i will share it here too...please have a look and read at my page and donate what u can as every little helps and they need us more now than ever as the deforestation is happening at the rate of knots very scary and the images of the devastation is heart breaking...we need the forests and the endearing apes, persons of the forest need it for survival so please join me and show your support. I am paying for the skydive myself so all donations go directly to the charity, all texts and online donations go directly to the charity...please dont forget to gift aid too if you are a tax payer... I am 18% towards my target of £2000- please help me get closer to make even more of a difference to one our closest relative. Thank you. http://www.justgiving.com/fallingforOrangutans-NatalieMascall-Skydive/ Or text NATS88 followed by amount you would like to donate to 70070, for example NATS88 £10 to 70070
