Anne Peyton Solo Exhibition at Great Plains Art Museum |
5/4/2012 - (May 4, 2012) - In 2010, Anne Peyton's original art piece, 'Morning Departure,' won the Gallery Award at the American Plains Artists' Art of the Plains exhibition at the Great Plains Art Museum in Lincoln, Neb. As part of her prize, Anne was invited to stage a solo exhibition of her work at the museum.
'Longed for Still - The Avian Art of Anne Peyton' is currently on display at the Great Plains Art Museum through May 27. The show featured 34 paintings in the main gallery.
'This show is a tremendous honor and privilege,' Peyton said. 'I never realized how much work went into staging an exhibition like this, but it also allows me to reflect on how I've grown and matured as an artist.
'The museum staff, led by Susan Curtis and Amber Mohr, made this an easy process, and I was amazed at the numbers of people traveling to Lincoln to see the exhibit while I was there. It has been a terrific experience to talk to so many about art, birds and conservation.'
The Great Plains Art Museum is located at 1155 Q St. in Lincoln, Neb.
