- ArtPlantae Today
Recognizing that science and art are equal partners in the creation of botanical art, ArtPlantae.com was created to assist artists with their understanding of botany. ArtPlantae LLC has expanded its original concept and has created a collection of resources to serve as an artist's first step in the research process.
Visit ArtPlantae Today, our gathering place for botanical illustrators. Botanical art and illustration news is posted here, in addition to interviews with artists and authors, as well as book events hosted by our bookstore, ArtPlantae Books. Please visit our online bookstore to browse through our selection of botanical art books, art supplies, and field supplies. We are confident that you will find unique resources for your library, studio, or field bag.

- International Society of Scratchboard Artists
Scratching, as an art form, has been around since the first people painted and scratched on cave walls. Today’s scratchboard is much more refined, allowing for intricate detail and a wide variety of styles. Scratchboard Art involves using a variety of abrasive tools to remove dark coloured ink to reveal a white layer below. Artists may leave the artwork in black and white or colour it with a variety of mediums. Scratchboard Art was historically used for illustrations in the advertising and publishing industries as an alternative to engraving. It has recently experienced a resurgence in popularity and is now finding its way into fine art circles.
