Our research team studies the dynamics of diseases such as Tasmanian Devil Facial Tumour Disease, avian malaria, chytridiomycosis, and Hendra virus in wildlife populations.
We aim to develop a better understanding of these host-pathogen systems to provide a scientifically-sound foundation upon which to base wildlife population management and conservation measures and minimise impacts of wildlife diseases on humans and domestic animals.
We use a range of approaches including mathematical modelling, field mark-recapture, spatial analysis and molecular techniques.
