Many people ask about commission pieces. Here's how it works with me.
I work very closely with only my own reference photos taken from my numerous research trips. My clients give me an idea of particular subject interests and I provide them with a series of compositional photos taken from the wild. If a particular image appeals to them, I reserve the image for them and contact is made just previous to starting the piece. At this time, if not already determined, details are discussed such as size, pricepoint, etc.
I try to accomodate as many requests as possible per year, but with other obligations factored in it is not always possible to meet all the demands unfortunately... so patience is kindly requested. I haven't disappointed a collector yet and many have expressed the wait was definitely worth it.
