Bannack was the first territorial capitol of Montana in 1864, and was founded for the vast riches of gold mined in Grasshopper Creek, adjacent to the townsite. Bannack is now a beautifully preserved park and continues to be so thanks to the suport of the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, and the Bannack Association. Each print sold will see 50% of the proceeds go to the Bannack Association to help in the upkeep of this wonderful window to the old west.
