During the spring, when there is no competition for females, bands of males gather together to graze the slopes above the Columbia Wetlands. We delighted to see a herd of 15 young males in June. It was clear this Bighorn Sheep was older and perhaps wiser than the others, as he kept a close watch over us. I can still feel him assessing me with his steady gaze.
