Description: This piece began with 2 different winter days - a day of collecting shells with my mother on the beach in Texas, where she was wintering; and another day of watching Royal Terns on the beaches of Florida. It was my desire to help the viewer be aware of the environment necessary for survival for this royal tern and her soon-to-be chick.
