Elephants at the Railway Line
Monday, October 1, 2007
Hwange National Park is not fenced and it is bordered on one side by a railway line. The trains run extremely slowly in this area as there are always animals on the lines. These elephants have broken a buried water pipe and are drinking right next to the railway crossing. Driving at night in these areas can be very dangerous - in fact one morning we saw a completely crushed vehicle on the road and found out that someone had hit an elephant.
