Pastel Society of America is an association of professional and emerging artists who work in the pastel medium. Founded in 1972 by Flora Giffuni, PSA is the oldest pastel society in existence in America. PSA is a model for standards of excellence well recognized by the art community here and abroad.

 The American Academy of Equine Art, Inc. was established in 1980 by a group of ten distinguished artists to maintain a degree of excellence within the genre, and to promote the academic representation of the equine form in drawing, painting and sculpture. The AAEA serves to educate and encourage a broad awareness and appreciation of contemporary equine art as a specific and distinctively worthy segment of fine art in America. The AAEA is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization.

     In fulfillment of its mission, the AAEA organizes and presents exhibitions throughout the United States . An annual exhibition features works of Founders, Full members and invited artists. A yearly, open, juried exhibition spotlights the works of aspiring or emerging equine artists. The Marwell Art Society was founded in early 1999, operating as an association of wildlife artists supporting the work of Marwell Zoological Park in Hampshire, United Kingdom. The group has grown rapidly to become the largest wildlife art society in Europe with well over 300 members. In 2004, their title was changed to 'Marwell International Wildlife Art Society' (MIWAS) in order to more accurately reflect the composition and needs of the members. In late 2005, the art society became independent from Marwell (though still supporting their aims and working with them) and was integrated within a limited company.

Each year, the art society has held its fabulous annual exhibition of wildlife art, which is housed in the wonderful listed building 'Marwell Hall'. The 2004 exhibition was opened by celebrity presenter Anneka Rice.

The Wildlife Artist Association was founded in 1992  to meet a perceived need for talented artists to band together for the promotion of wildlife conservation through professional quality wildlife art. The purpose and objectives of WAA, therefore, is to apply special emphasis on the protection of endangered species, while supporting wildlife care and rescue facilities by promoting  members artistic work.

The American Water Color Society, incorporated in 1903, has an annual juried exhibition of the A.W.S. which is open to all artists worldwide. The exhibition awards now exceed over $30,000 with over 10 medals annually. Active members number approximately 500, with almost 2000 associates.

Traveling shows  were initiated in 1905, visiting Buffalo, Cincinnati, Detroit, Indianapolis, St. Louis and several other venues.On occasion, the society has also selected an outstanding artist or individual who has contributed to the advancement of fine art in general and watercolor in particular. This person  receives the highest A.W.S. honor, the Dolphin Medal, at the annual awards banquet.
