  Wilderness Society
  The Wilderness Society brings to bear scientific expertise, analysis and bold advocacy at the highest levels to save, protect and restore America's wilderness areas.
By:

Protecting the last great American wilderness area, the Arctic Wildlife Refuge, from oil and gas drilling;
Staving off logging and road building on 58 million acres of roadless lands;
Curbing the abuse of  lands by off-road vehicle users;
Protecting America's wild places in Alaska and the lower 48 states from rampant oil development.
Winning StrategiesMany of The Wilderness Society's founders and earliest leaders were scientists and policy experts. Aldo Leopold is remembered world-wide for his ground-breaking work on an ethical treatment of the land. Robert Marshall was among the first to suggest that large tracts of Alaska be preserved, and shaped the U.S. Forest Service's policy on wilderness designation and management.
The Wilderness Society remains true to their principles and dedicated to the concept that careful, credible science, bold advocacy, and unswerving vision are essential underpinnings of conservation policy.

Art for ConservationTM Commitment Goal:
$15,252.50 US.

Wilderness Society has been indicated by AFC members as a potential recipient of donations by participating artists. AFC's Art for ConservationTM program, provides a forum to promote artwork that benefits recognized conservation organizations such as Wilderness Society.

AFC members have voluntarily and independently earmarked a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their artwork to Wilderness Society. AFC's Art for ConservationTM program provides a forum to help promote artwork for sale that includes such a commitment. Each artists's commitment is contingent on the sale of their work and the above estimate is a potential total based on the completion of sale of any original work and/or limited editions. The AFC is not involved in any way with artwork sales transactions, nor does it make any guarantees relating to artist commitments. The AFC takes no commission whatsoever from the sale of artwork under the Art for ConservationTM program, unless explicitly indicated.
