The Wombat Protection Society of Australia is a Not for Profit Charitable Organisation which was formed to raise money to fund projects that provide wombats with immediate protection from harm, enhance the quality of life of individuals or groups of wombats and to fund projects which develop or maintain suitable habitat and/or sanctuaries for wombats.  The society also funds and supports research projects which meet these criteria.

One aim of the society is to develop this interactive web site which will bring together people involved in wombat conservation and protection, maintain a data base of up to date research and information about wombats, and serve as a conduit for further research.

Wombat Protection Society of Australia has been indicated by AFC members as a potential recipient of donations by participating artists. AFC's Art for Conservation^TM program, provides a forum to promote artwork that benefits recognized conservation organizations such as Wombat Protection Society of Australia.

AFC members have voluntarily and independently earmarked a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their artwork to Wombat Protection Society of Australia. AFC's Art for Conservation^TM program provides a forum to help promote artwork for sale that includes such a commitment. Each artists's commitment is contingent on the sale of their work and the above estimate is a potential total based on the completion of sale of any original work and/or limited editions. The AFC is not involved in any way with artwork sales transactions, nor does it make any guarantees relating to artist commitments. The AFC takes no commission whatsoever from the sale of artwork under the Art for Conservation^TM program, unless explicitly indicated.
