The Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC) Project is an effort by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and Ducks Unlimited, Inc. to protect, restore and enhance wildlife habitat. It encompasses approximately 36,000 acres (14,569 hectares) in Seneca, Cayuga and Wayne counties in upstate New York and includes the federal Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge, the state Northern Montezuma Wildlife Management Area, and lands owned by conservation groups, farmers, and other private landowners. Public lands and some private land are managed to provide habitat for wildlife and recreation and education for people. Their objectives include:1.Support habitat restoration, wildlife conservation, and enhancement projects of the Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC). 2. Serve as advocates for the MWC.3. Promote public awareness of the MWC.4. Engage in educational and research activities |

Friends of the Northern Montezuma Wetlands Complex has been indicated by AFC members as a potential recipient of donations by participating artists. AFC's Art for ConservationTM program, provides a forum to promote artwork that benefits recognized conservation organizations such as Friends of the Northern Montezuma Wetlands Complex.
AFC members have voluntarily and independently earmarked a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their artwork to Friends of the Northern Montezuma Wetlands Complex. AFC's Art for ConservationTM program provides a forum to help promote artwork for sale that includes such a commitment. Each artists's commitment is contingent on the sale of their work and the above estimate is a potential total based on the completion of sale of any original work and/or limited editions. The AFC is not involved in any way with artwork sales transactions, nor does it make any guarantees relating to artist commitments. The AFC takes no commission whatsoever from the sale of artwork under the Art for ConservationTM program, unless explicitly indicated.
