The Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka (FOGSL) is based at the University of Colombo. Since its establishment at 1976, FOGSL has been working primarily for bird conservation through education. Objectives ---------- • To bring together persons who are interested in the study and conservation of the birds of Sri Lanka. • To generate interest among laymen and students of natural history in the study and conservation of birds • To institute, direct and carry out a programme of field study, island wide on various aspects of bird's ecology and biology. • To establish links with other groups in other parts of the world with similar interest History ------- fogsl was founded in 10th October 1976. There were 6 founder members, including P.B.Karunarathne, Sarath Kotagama, Rex.I.de Silva, G.L.De Silva, S.U.K.Ekaratne. FOGSL Activities ---------------- * Regular Monthly Meetings on every last Saturday of the month * Regular Field Excursions * Conducting Researches on Birds and Habitats * School Environment Lecture Program * Bird Study Techniques Workshop * Annual Bird Photography and Educational Exhibition * Quaterly Bulletins * FOGKIDS for Junior Members * National Bird Ringing Program |

Art for ConservationTM Commitment Goal:
$1,080.00 US.
Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka (FOGSL) has been indicated by AFC members as a potential recipient of donations by participating artists. AFC's Art for ConservationTM program, provides a forum to promote artwork that benefits recognized conservation organizations such as Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka (FOGSL).
AFC members have voluntarily and independently earmarked a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their artwork to Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka (FOGSL). AFC's Art for ConservationTM program provides a forum to help promote artwork for sale that includes such a commitment. Each artists's commitment is contingent on the sale of their work and the above estimate is a potential total based on the completion of sale of any original work and/or limited editions. The AFC is not involved in any way with artwork sales transactions, nor does it make any guarantees relating to artist commitments. The AFC takes no commission whatsoever from the sale of artwork under the Art for ConservationTM program, unless explicitly indicated.
