The Gorilla Organization, -formerly the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund is dedicated to protecting and saving the endangered Gorillas in their natural forest habitat in central Africa. Founded by the late Dr Dian Fossey, after her favourite gorilla Digit was speared to death by poachers in 1979, it has evolved to become a world-renowned organisation at the forefront of community-based conservation.The Fund now manages twenty projects designed to integrate traditional conservation and research with economic development and education. Each project is run by a local partner organisation and is backed-up by the Fund's staff and network of resource centres in Rwanda, Congo and Uganda. The programme's main areas of activity are Conservation & Research, Education Projects, and Socio-economic Development. |

Gorilla Organization (The) formerly Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund has been indicated by AFC members as a potential recipient of donations by participating artists. AFC's Art for ConservationTM program, provides a forum to promote artwork that benefits recognized conservation organizations such as Gorilla Organization (The) formerly Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.
AFC members have voluntarily and independently earmarked a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their artwork to Gorilla Organization (The) formerly Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. AFC's Art for ConservationTM program provides a forum to help promote artwork for sale that includes such a commitment. Each artists's commitment is contingent on the sale of their work and the above estimate is a potential total based on the completion of sale of any original work and/or limited editions. The AFC is not involved in any way with artwork sales transactions, nor does it make any guarantees relating to artist commitments. The AFC takes no commission whatsoever from the sale of artwork under the Art for ConservationTM program, unless explicitly indicated.
