The Backyard Birdsong Guides coming in 2008 |
|
Over the last 8 months Jon Janosik has been preparing illustrations for Donald Kroodsma's new field guides to be published by Chronicle Books this year. The small, portable Backyard Birdsong Guides are regional, interactive guides to birds and their songs for beginning birdwatchers. Presented in a friendly and accessible format, and complete with a touch-button electronic module housing 75 common backyard songs from the eastern and central or western regions of North America, these volumes offer a truly unique way of identifying birds, focusing on getting to know them through their songs. Larry McQween of Eugene, Oregon is a co-illustrator. The books were produced by becker&mayer! of Bellevue, WA. The author, bird biologist Donald Kroodsma, is currently a visiting fellow at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology's world renowned Macaulay Library and has studied birdsong for more than forty years and lives in Amherst, Massachusetts. The Backyard Birdsong Guides will resonate with beginners and experts alike, adding deeper dimensions to the birding experience. |
