Jon Janosik's painting of Guam Microneasian Kingfishers will be featured on the cover of the Auk, Journal of the American Ornithological Union (AOU), for the Spring 2007 issue. It accompanies a scientific paper on the Microneasian Kingfisher by Prof. Susan Haig Ph.D and Dylan Kessler Ph.D of Oregon State University who have been conducting extensive studies in the N. Marianna Islands on this species. The Guam Micronesian Kingfisher is extinct in the wild and is captively bred in many zoos in the USA for possible reintroduction in Guam.
