Subject: Juvenile Great-Horned Owl Dimensions (inches): 13.5 x 14 Medium: Scratchboard Description: Taken from the layout of the original Oil painting of the same name, we find one of the juvenile Owls quietly waiting for the sun to go down and the arrival of "dinner after dark". It was a challenge to capture the softness of feathering using only my needle tool. It took many hours of stippling and scratching to build up the delicate texture of plumage and equally as much time creating the mosses.The final effect is one of soft edges and light.
