Lost Lands
(2013)
Subject: Wildlife
Dimensions (inches): 14 x 29
Medium: Oil
Description: The Jaguar has always been one of my favorite big cats. It is the only extant cat native to North America that roars, and is the third largest feline in the world. It's hard to believe that this great beast once roamed the south-western parts of North America, even reaching as far as the Grand Canyon. It's a shame we hadn't taken more pride in preserving this big cat in its natural habitat, but instead hunted it to its extinction here in the U.S. I believe with much hard work and perseverance on our part, the Jaguar could once again call this its homeland, instead of lost lands.
