Subject: A Juvenile American Coot Dimensions (inches): 9.5 x 14 Medium: Acrylic on Baltic Birch Description: This American Coot was hiding in the reeds looking up at us as we passed by. I find it fascinating how the Coot will change from the 'ugly ducking' to the plain grey and then in adulthood change again to black with a white beak.
