Subject: Kookaburras Dimensions (centimeters): 90 x 60 Medium: oil Description: Kookaburras are one of my most favourite subjects to paint. There is something quite comical about them and they manage to exhibit a variety of expressions when they raise or lower the feathers around their faces. In the area where I live there are a number of kookaburra families and it is very entertaining watching them going about their daily business. I have had to come to the rescue many times to take in an injured bird or look after one of the chicks that has fallen out of the nest but they are great survivors and are easily returned to the wild.
