Subject: stargazer lily Dimensions (inches): 36 x 48 x 1.5 Medium: Oil on Canvas Description: My third Stargazer painting and keeping to the Star Trek names. Stargazers are always an amazingly beautiful flower but the lighting on this particular blossom was incredible! That center just glows!! This was a very interesting piece for me. Intellectually I know that those petals are white and pink and just in shadow but white and pink in shadow is anything but white and/or pink! There were also reflected colors to add to the challenge! Lighting brings such amazing qualities to a piece - it has it's own special alchemy! This was painted primarily to the music of Tears for Fears - their Elemental Album and Annie Lennox's Diva album.
