Subject: Parrot Tulips Dimensions (inches): 30 x 40 x 1.5 Medium: Oil on Canvas Description: Who can think of spring without thinking of tulips? These Parrot Tulips embody the beauty of gardens coming back to life after a long winter's nap. I was particularly captivated by the 'flippy bits' - those curled edges on the petals which are so graceful. As a generally do from time to time, this is a primarily monochromatic painting. Such work is a challenge and also a delight. What begins as primarily a limited range of color grows and grows as I observe my subject matter. I find that these 'monochromatic' subject increase my ability to see color in its minute variations.
