Wildness: the sense of an Earth that has gotten by with or without humans for billions of years. A diffused sense of wildness, present in any natural setting, is intensely concentrated --literally embodied -- when you encounter an animal; especially a big one up close. At the other end of the spectrum, my fascination with the less dramatic but infinitely intricate life under logs and along pond margins lead me to study biology as a college student. Both of these aspects of the natural world inspire my current efforts at art, conservation and travel.
