Robert Bateman to be Recognized by Peers with Prestigious Conservation Award
9/24/2008 - Internationally acclaimed artist Robert Bateman has been chosen to receive the Artists for Conservation's (AFC) top honor, the Simon Combes Conservation Award. The AFC bestows this tribute on one of its 500 member artists in recognition of outstanding artistic achievement and contribution to the conservation cause. This will be the second time that the trophy has been awarded.
Launch of International Art Exhibition To Benefit Wildlife Conservation
9/19/2008 - Sunday, September 28th will mark the official opening of a new annual international juried exhibit –"The Art of Conservation - An International Exhibit of Nature in Art" – featuring the art of leading nature and wildlife artists from around the globe. The exhibition was created to celebrate artistic excellence in the depiction of nature, raise awareness of conservation issues, and directly support organizations dedicated to addressing them.
Oregon Sculptor to Study Rare Seal of Lake Baikal, Russia
4/22/2008 - The Artists for Conservation Foundation (AFC), is pleased to announce its seventh fellowship involving a grant of $5,000 US, under the AFC Flag Expeditions Program, awarded to wildlife artist Terry Woodall, of North Bend, Oregon, USA. Terry will be in the field from mid-June to mid-July, 2008, observing and recording the Baikal Seal (also called 'Nerpa') in its habitat. He will become the first sculptor, under the Program, to carry out a Flag Expedition.

1/29/2008 - The AFC is pleased to announce that its first annual juried exhibition, "The Art of Conservation - An International Exhibition of Nature in Art". Featuring the nature art of its members, the exhibition will be launched in September 2008 at the Hiram Blauvelt Museum (HBAM) near New York City.

10/15/2007 - The Artists for Conservation Foundation (AFC), is pleased to announce its sixth fellowship involving a grant of $5,000 US, under the AFC Flag Expeditions Program, awarded to wildlife artist Daniel Taylor, of Coquitlam, BC, Canada. Taylor will undertake a five-week expedition to Western Cameroon beginning on October 28th, 2007, in order to raise funds and awareness for the conservation of the Cross River Gorilla, a species threatened with extinction.

8/29/2007 - The Artists for Conservation Foundation (AFC) is proud to announce that a new Flag Expedition Journal, capturing Pollyanna Pickering's expedition to Bhutan, has been published on the AFC website. The artist created the journal while traveling through Bhutan, studying the unique spectrum of flora and fauna from the region as well as the conservation issues faced by the region. Dramatic sketches, drawings and a first person account of the Bhutanese people, their lifestyle, and the diversity of Bhutan's flora and fauna, make up the journal's contents.

Pickering Completes Flag Expedition To Bhutan
5/31/2007 - UK artist Pollyanna Pickering and her daughter/manager Anna-Louise Pickering returned from Bhutan where she sketched and painted the rare flora and fauna of this largely undisturbed region of the Himalayas. Pickering is the first western artist to comprehensively document Bhutan's wildlife and habitat in a series of paintings.
