12/7/2012 - In addition to Michael receiving an AFC Medal of Excellence 2012 for his painting 'Trust' which was presented to him at this year's festival event in Vancouver, he has also recently won first place in the wildlife category of the Artist's Magazine's 2012 Annual International Art Competition. Winners in all categories can be seen in the December issue of the Artist's Magazine, available on newstands now. In addition, Michael won first place in the painting category of the 2012 Artavita International Competition. As part of his win, six pages are devoted to his work in International Contemporary Artists, a book published by Worldwide Art Books - California. This book is available now. The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters has named Michael Artist of the Year for 2013, and a new piece featuring moose is scheduled to be printed as a limited edition fund raising print early in 2013. He has also been presented with an award from Cystic Fibrosis Canada, for his ongoing support of this charities fund raising efforts.
