Mike Savlen

Mike Savlen is known for his powerful, thick and expressionist signature artwork. His work clearly has a voice of it's own.

As a full time painter of Marine species and landscapes Mike travels the world to get a better understanding of his subjects, and their environs. Mike Savlen is an avid outdoorsman and has been all his life. This, he attributes as the primary inspiration for his art. With constant exposure to the outdoors it is impossible for Mike not to see the impact our species has on habitats and healthy fish and
animal populations. Mike is not an extremist in the sense that he believes areas of the earth should be completely shut down to all forms of human contact.
Just that it is our responsibility to ensure what does remain, survives intact. To insure that generations to come may see and experience nature as it was meant to be.

Mike Savlen is honored to know his vision, and art is actively aiding in worthwhile causes with a focus on conservation and rehabilitation.

Mike donates many original paintings as well as prints, to different organizations. Some of the charities he has donated to and or worked with are listed below:

Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation
Blue Ocean Institute
British Columbia Steelhead Coalition
Trout Unlimited
Ducks unlimited
Coastal Conservation Association
Adaptive Fly Fishing institute
Bass Anglers Pro Teen Classic
Stripers Forever

and many more that are directly or indirectly conservation oriented.
